Brand: Epson

Availability: In stock

The Epson DX4 printhead (6000005213) is a genuine original eco-solvent print head used in Roland, Mimaki, and Mutoh wide-format printers. Designed for high-performance printing, this DX4 head delivers 360 dpi resolution, 360 nozzles, and consistent output for solvent, UV, and aqueous applications.
Roland part numbers: 1000002201 / 22805470 / 6000005213. Mutoh part number: DF-49733 / DG-42386. Mimaki part number: M004905.
Important note for VersaUV users: the 6000005180 DX4 gold printhead is the recommended option for VersaUV printers, however the standard 6000005213 can also be used with firmware 1.4 or higher. All printheads installed in the same printer must be identical, a mixed configuration of standard and gold DX4 heads will not function properly.

DX4 vs DX5 — Which Do You Need?
The DX4 and DX5 are not interchangeable. The DX4 has 2 ink channels and 360 total nozzles at 360 dpi native. The DX5 has 8 ink channels and 1,440 nozzles at 1440 dpi native. The DX4 is used in older Roland CJ, FJ, SC, SJ, and XC series machines. If you are unsure which generation your printer uses, check your printer model in the compatibility list above or contact our team before ordering.
DX4 Standard vs DX4 Gold (VersaUV)
The standard DX4 (part 6000005213) and the gold DX4 (part 6000005180) are both compatible with Roland VersaUV printers running firmware 1.4 or higher. However all printheads installed in one printer must be the same type — a mixed configuration of standard and gold is not supported. The gold version is recommended for dedicated VersaUV use. Contact our team if you need to confirm which version your VersaUV printer requires.
Recommended Accessories — Replace at the Same Time
When replacing an Epson DX4 always replace the dampers and cables at the same time. Installing a new head on worn accessories is the leading cause of premature failure. In eco-solvent use a DX4 printhead typically lasts 9 to 12 months — see our printhead lifespan guide for replacement cycles by model and tips to extend service life:
• DX4 compatible eco-solvent ink dampers — replace every printhead change
• Head data cables — inspect and replace if worn
• Capping station — inspect at the same time

Frequently Asked Questions
What Roland printers use the Epson DX4 printhead?
Roland CJ-540, FJ-540, FJ-640, FJ-740, SC-540, SJ-540, SJ-640, SJ-740, SJ-1045, XC-540, and others all use the DX4. If your Roland model is not listed, contact our team before ordering.
What is the difference between DX4 and DX5?
The DX4 has 2 ink channels and 360 total nozzles. The DX5 has 8 ink channels and 1,440 nozzles. They are completely different generations and are not interchangeable. Check your printer model carefully before ordering.
What are the Roland part numbers for the DX4?
The primary Roland part numbers are 1000002201, 22805470, and 6000005213. All three refer to the same DX4 printhead. The Mutoh equivalent is DF-49684 / DG-42386 and the Mimaki equivalent is M004905.
How long does the DX4 printhead last?
In typical eco-solvent use the DX4 lasts 9 to 12 months — significantly longer than DTF printheads, because eco-solvent inks are far less abrasive on the nozzle plate than water-based DTF white ink. Replacing dampers at each head change and maintaining the capping station extends service life. See our printhead lifespan guide for full data across all Epson models.
Can the DX4 be used in VersaUV printers?
Yes — the standard DX4 (6000005213) can be used in Roland VersaUV printers running firmware 1.4 or higher. However all printheads in the printer must be the same type. The gold DX4 (6000005180) is the recommended version for VersaUV. Contact our team to confirm.
Do you ship Epson DX4 printheads to Latin America?
Yes — same day shipping from our Doral, Miami FL warehouse. Our Miami location is ideal for Latin American print shops and resellers using freight forwarders in the Doral area.
