The Epson DX4 is an older eco-solvent printhead still in wide use in Roland SP/VP series and Mimaki JV3/JV4 printers. Despite its age, it remains a reliable head with a 9–14 month lifespan in standard production environments. Parts are still widely available.

Lifespan and maintenance

Expected lifespan: 9–14 months in standard eco-solvent production. Longer than DTF heads because eco-solvent firing frequency is lower. Replace dampers, wiper blade, and capping station at every head installation.
