Frequently Asked Questions
Which printhead does my Mimaki printer use?
Mimaki uses different printhead engines across its product lines. JV33, JV5, CJV30 (M007947) use Epson DX5-based heads for eco-solvent. CJV300, JV34-260 use Epson DX7-based heads. JFX200-2513, JFX500-2131, UCJV300, JV400-LX, JV400-SUV, TS500-1800 use Ricoh Gen5 industrial heads (M022625, M022626, M022624, M014384, M014400, MP-M022653). UJF MK-II (M018821) uses a Toshiba CE4 head. TS300P-1800 uses a Panasonic HA812 head. TS55-1800 (M022557) is the premium high-speed sublimation head. Each product page lists exact compatibility.
Are Mimaki printheads the same as Epson or Ricoh printheads?
Mimaki doesn't manufacture its own printheads — it integrates heads from Epson, Ricoh, Toshiba and Panasonic into Mimaki-specific assemblies, then assigns its own M-series part numbers. For example, the Mimaki JFX200-2513 head (M022625) is a Ricoh MH5420 inside a Mimaki carriage assembly, and the JV33 head (M007947) is an Epson DX5. When buying a replacement, always match the Mimaki part number — not just the underlying head — because Mimaki includes the heater, memory board and connector specific to your machine.
Are these Mimaki printheads genuine?
Yes. All Mimaki printhead assemblies sold by Digiprint USA are genuine Mimaki, factory-sealed and never used, refurbished, or altered. Each ships with its original part identifier and is covered by a manufacturer warranty.
How fast does Digiprint USA ship Mimaki printheads?
Orders placed before 2:00 PM EST on business days ship the same day from Doral, Florida. US orders typically arrive in 1–3 business days via FedEx or UPS. International shipping is available at checkout — important for many Mimaki industrial buyers outside the US.
How long should a Mimaki printhead last?
It depends on the head engine and how the printer is maintained. JV33/JV5 (DX5-based) heads typically last 12–24 months in production. CJV300 (DX7-based) heads typically last 18–24 months. JFX, UCJV300, JV400 (Ricoh Gen5-based) heads often last 2+ years thanks to the longer-life Ricoh industrial design. Sublimation heads on TS-series machines run longer when ink temperature and filters are maintained. Daily nozzle checks, proper capping, and using Mimaki-approved inks are the biggest factors.
What is the warranty and return policy on Mimaki printheads?
All Mimaki printheads are covered under warranty, with a specific RMA process — we'll guide you through it. Warranty requires use of approved inks; non-approved inks or tampered/missing serial numbers void coverage. Printheads cannot be returned once installed or used. Sealed, unused printheads are eligible for store credit only, not a refund to the original payment method. Inspect your delivery on arrival; hidden defects must be reported within 48 hours.
