The Ricoh GEN6 is the current-generation industrial piezoelectric printhead with 1,280 nozzles, enhanced variable greyscale, and a firing frequency of 40+ kHz — a meaningful throughput improvement over the GEN5's 30 kHz ceiling in high-speed UV and solvent production. The GEN6 has the same nozzle count as the GEN5 but delivers finer detail and smoother gradients through improved drop size control, making it suited to current-generation UV flatbed and industrial inkjet platforms. It is not interchangeable with the GEN5 — a GEN5 printer requires a GEN5 head; the control board interfaces are different. As with GEN5, the GEN6 is available in UV and solvent variants that are not interchangeable — confirm your printer's ink chemistry before ordering. Running the wrong variant destroys the head rapidly.
