Graphtec cutting blades are replaceable steel blades used in Graphtec vinyl cutters and cutting plotters. The blade fits inside a blade holder (PHP33 or PHP35 series) which clips into the machine's carriage. Selecting the correct blade diameter (0.9mm or 1.5mm) and cutting angle (30°, 45°, or 60°) depends on the material being cut and the machine model.
Graphtec Blade Types: Which Blade for Which Material?
Graphtec produces blades in three diameters — 0.9mm (CB09 series), 1.5mm (CB15 series), and 3.0mm (CB30/PM-CB series). Within each diameter, the cutting angle determines the material range. Here is every current blade model and what it cuts:
| Part Number | Diameter / Angle | Best For | Pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| CB09UB-5 | 0.9mm / 45° | Standard vinyl, fluorescent & refractive marking film, up to 0.25mm thick. Super steel — longer life. | 5 blades |
| CB09UB-K60-5 | 0.9mm / 60° | Tint film and ultra-thin films, 0.03mm–0.25mm. The 60° angle prevents over-cutting through delicate material. | 5 blades |
| CB09-E | 0.9mm / 45° | Economy blade for PHP33-CB09N / PHP35-CB09 holders. Life: 2–3km paper, 5km vinyl. | 5 blades |
| CB09-P | 0.9mm / 45° | High-durability blade. Life: 7–8km paper, 28–30km vinyl. Best for high-volume production. | 5 blades |
| CB15U-5 | 1.5mm / 45° | Rigid or thick film, heavy paper, oil board. 0.25mm–0.5mm thick. Requires PHP33-CB15N-HS or PHP35-CB15-HS holder. | 5 blades |
| CB15U-K30-5 | 1.5mm / 30° | Rigid/thick sheet, sandblast resist rubber up to 1.0mm thick, small detailed characters on marking film. | 5 blades |
| CB15UA-5 | 1.5mm / 45° | High-intensity reflective film or harder film, up to 0.5mm thick. | 5 blades |
| CB15UA-K30-5 | 1.5mm / 30° | High-intensity reflective film or harder film, up to 1.0mm thick. | 5 blades |
Graphtec Blade Holders: PHP33 vs PHP35
The blade holder houses the cutting blade and clicks into the pen carriage of the machine. Graphtec currently uses two blade holder series for CB09 and CB15 blades:

What blade holder does the Graphtec FC9000 use?
The FC9000 includes the PHP33-CB09N-HS as standard for CB09 series blades. It also accepts the PHP35-CB09-HS (alternative holder), and the PHP33-CB15N-HS or PHP35-CB15-HS for 1.5mm CB15 blades.
What is the difference between CB09UB-5 and CB09UB-K60-5?
Both are 0.9mm blades. The CB09UB-5 cuts at 45° and handles standard vinyl up to 0.25mm thick. The CB09UB-K60-5 cuts at 60° and is designed specifically for tint film and ultra-thin materials (0.03mm–0.25mm). The shallower 60° angle prevents the blade from piercing through delicate film.
How often should I replace Graphtec cutting blades?
Blade life varies by blade grade and material. Economy (CB09-E): 2–3km paper, 5km vinyl. Super steel (CB09UB-5): between economy and premium. High-durability (CB09-P): 7–8km paper, 28–30km vinyl. Replace when you see fraying edges, incomplete cuts, or need to increase cutting force beyond normal settings.
Is the CB09UB-1 compatible with the CE7000?
The "CB09UB-1" designation refers to the blade holder assembly (now catalogued as PHP33-CB09N-HS). The CB09 series blades (CB09UB-5, CB09-E, etc.) are compatible with the CE7000 and CE8000 series machines using PHP33 or PHP35 blade holders.
What is the difference between PHP33 and PHP35 blade holders?
PHP33 and PHP35 holders accept the same blade diameters but differ in body design and pen-carriage slot. Both series are compatible with FC9000, CE8000, FCX2000, and FCX4000. When ordering a replacement, match the holder series already installed in your machine to avoid incompatibility with the carriage locking mechanism.
