Based on the same Xaar 318 nozzle row architecture (hence the "318 GL" model designation in the Arizona 318 GL), the CA4 delivers the same 16-level grayscale capability and 6–90 pl drop volume range as the later CE4, but in a single-row configuration with 318 nozzles and 169 μm nozzle pitch rather than the CE4's double-row 636-nozzle layout. Despite the lower nozzle count relative to CE4, the CA4's grayscale performance — particularly its 90 pl maximum drop capacity — remains fully capable of producing the smooth tonal gradients and high-coverage flood-fill UV output that the Arizona 300/350 platform is designed for.
