The Epson i3200-U1 / i1600 UV Damper is a replacement ink damper for printers using the Epson i3200-U1 and i1600-U1 printheads in UV-curable ink applications — including UV flatbed, UV DTF (UV Direct-to-Film), and roll-to-roll UV printers. Connecting via 4.2 × 2.8mm ink tubing, this UV-rated damper filters particles, buffers pressure fluctuations, and maintains stable negative back-pressure at the nozzle face for the i3200-U1's high-viscosity UV ink delivery requirements. This is a compatible (non-OEM) replacement. Replace every 3–6 months in production environments and at every printhead installation.
This is the U1 UV damper — not compatible with water-based DTF or eco-solvent inks. The i3200 platform uses different dampers for different ink types. The i3200-U1 UV damper (this listing) uses UV-resistant seal compounds for UV-curable inks. The i3200-A1 water-based damper (separate listing) uses EPDM seals for DTF, DTG, and sublimation. Do not use this UV damper in a water-based printer — UV-resistant compounds differ from EPDM and are not suited to water-based ink chemistry. Equally, do not use the water-based EPDM damper in a UV printer — UV photoinitiators attack EPDM seals.

UV Ink and Damper Chemistry — Why UV Requires Different Seals
UV-curable inks contain photoinitiators, monomers, and oligomers that are chemically aggressive toward standard rubber compounds such as EPDM used in water-based dampers. UV ink components attack EPDM seals, causing swelling, degradation, and eventual leaking — typically within weeks rather than months. UV-rated dampers use seal compounds specifically formulated to resist these reactive UV ink components, maintaining seal integrity over the damper's full service life. This is why installing a water-based i3200-A1 damper in a UV i3200-U1 printer is not a viable shortcut — the seal failure it causes contaminates the ink path and can permanently damage the printhead manifold. Always match damper chemistry to ink type.

Signs Your i3200-U1 Dampers Need Replacing
• Banding or nozzle loss on specific UV ink channels — pressure irregularity from a failing damper
• UV ink leaking at damper connections — seal failure under operating pressure
• Inconsistent UV ink density across a print run — damper no longer buffering pressure correctly
• UV ink starvation patterns — clogged internal mesh restricting flow
• Air bubbles entering the UV ink path — membrane or seal failure
i3200-U1 Installation — Full Consumable Checklist
• UV dampers (this listing) — replace all 4 per head at every installation
