Product Information

The PALL Capsule Filter 5 Micron Straight Jaco 6mm (FFIPA11275) is a replacement inline capsule filter for solvent and UV inkjet printers. Built with a straight 1/4" (6mm) Jaco quick-connect fitting on both ends, it installs directly in the ink or fluid supply line and removes particulate down to 5 microns before it reaches the printhead — protecting nozzles from clogging and dropout caused by sediment or ink residue in the fluid path. This is the original PALL capsule filter.

Why Does the Main Filter Need Replacing?

As solvent or UV ink is drawn through the fluid line toward the printhead, this capsule filter traps fine particulate, dried ink flecks, and sediment before they can reach the damper or nozzle plate. Over time the filter media loads up with trapped debris, gradually restricting flow. Once flow resistance rises enough, the printhead starts starving for ink under normal pump pressure — showing up as banding, weak fire on some nozzles, or inconsistent color density, even though the printhead itself is clean. Left in service too long, a clogged main filter can also strain the ink pump and starve downstream dampers.

Signs the Main Filter Needs Replacing

• Banding or streaking that clears briefly after a purge, then returns

• Reduced ink flow or pressure warnings from the printer's ink delivery system

• Nozzle dropout that doesn't resolve with a standard head cleaning cycle

• Filter housing visibly discolored or caked with sediment on inspection

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 5 micron Jaco capsule filter used for?
It's an inline main filter installed on the solvent or UV ink supply line ahead of the printhead. It removes particulate down to 5 microns, protecting the damper and nozzles from clogging caused by sediment or dried ink debris in the fluid path.

Which printers is this filter compatible with?
This filter fits printers using a 6mm Jaco connector fluid line, including EFI Jetrion 4830, Fujifilm UVistar UVR 3532/5032, MS Italy JP4/JP5, and SwissQprint Impala/Nyala.

What's the difference between the straight and elbow version?
Both use the same 5 micron PALL filter media and Jaco 6mm connector — the difference is fitting orientation. The straight version routes the line directly through; the elbow version turns the line 90°. Choose based on the space and routing inside your printer's fluid compartment.

Should I choose 3, 5, or 10 micron?
5 micron is the standard general-purpose choice for most solvent and UV printers. Choose 3 micron for finer, high-resolution printheads that need tighter protection, or 10 micron where higher flow matters more than fine filtration — often as a pre-filter ahead of a finer stage.

Do you ship this filter to Latin America?
Yes — same-day shipping on orders placed before 4:30pm CT. Digiprint USA supplies wide-format UV and solvent printer operations across Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and the Caribbean.
