The Océ Arizona family — 250, 350, 360, 460, 480, 550 and the later 1200/2200 series — has a decade-plus service life, which means a lot of them are on their second or third set of printheads. Canon supplies Arizona heads as kits keyed to the machine generation. We stock the two most requested; this guide explains what they are and how to avoid ordering the wrong one.
Arizona 350 (and 250/360 family) — Kit F/S Printhead CA4
The Arizona 350 Kit F/S Printhead CA4, part 3W3010108132, is the field-service head kit for the 350 generation. "F/S" is Canon/Océ's designation for a field-serviceable kit: the head plus the fittings and consumables needed for a technician to replace it on site. The CA4 suffix is the head revision; confirm your machine's service history hasn't already moved it to a different revision before ordering.
Arizona 460 GT (and 480 family) — FSK Printhead CE2
The Arizona 460 GT FSK Printhead CE2, part 3W3010122104, is the equivalent field-service kit for the 460 GT generation. Different part, different head revision (CE2). A 350 kit will not fit a 460 GT and vice versa, even though the machines look alike from across the shop.
How Arizona heads fail
Arizona machines have robust automatic maintenance, so heads rarely die of neglect. The typical failure modes are:
- UV cure inside the head. A lamp shutter fault or a lamp left on while the carriage is parked polymerises ink in the nozzles. Permanent. Keep shutters and the lamp housing seals intact — we stock Arizona lamp housings and UV bulbs for exactly this reason.
- Age. Nozzle-plate wear after years of service shows up as deflection and satellite drops the machine's compensation can't hide.
- Ink chemistry changes. Moving an older Arizona to a newer ink set without the correct head revision causes reliability problems that look like a bad head.
Before you order an Arizona head kit
- Machine model and serial. 350 vs 360, 460 GT vs 480 — send us the plate and we'll confirm the kit.
- Head revision on the current head. The suffix (CA4, CE2) is on the head label. Match it unless your service documentation says a newer revision is approved.
- Which channel. Arizona heads are per-channel; you're usually replacing one, not the set.
- Installer. These kits are designed for technician installation with the machine's service software. If you don't have a trained operator, budget a service visit.
Arizona vs. other UV flatbed heads
Unlike the Ricoh GEN5 or Konica KM1024i that sit in dozens of flatbed brands, Arizona heads are machine-specific kits. That means no cross-brand supply and a stronger case for keeping a spare on the shelf if the machine is production-critical. Our UV vs. latex post covers the general economics of industrial UV heads.
Frequently asked questions
What printhead does the Océ Arizona 350 use?
The Arizona 350 generation uses the Kit F/S Printhead CA4, Canon/Océ part 3W3010108132. It's supplied as a field-service kit with the fittings needed for on-site replacement, and it is not interchangeable with the 460 GT kit.
Is the Arizona 460 GT printhead the same as the 350?
No. The 460 GT uses the FSK Printhead CE2, part 3W3010122104. The head revision and fitment differ from the 350's CA4 kit, so confirm the machine model and current head label before ordering.
What does "F/S" or "FSK" mean on an Arizona printhead part?
Field-service kit. Canon/Océ packages Arizona heads with the consumables and fittings a technician needs to replace the head on site, rather than selling the bare head alone.
Can I replace an Arizona printhead myself?
The kits are designed for trained technicians using the machine's service software for calibration. Unless your operator has done it on the same generation, budget a service visit — a mis-installed UV head is not recoverable.
